Overview: The 7 Affiliated Colleges
DCU’s undergraduate admissions are conducted across the following seven government colleges in Dhaka:
- Dhaka College (est. 1841) — Mirpur Road, New Market, Dhanmondi (Boys only)
- Eden Mohila College (est. 1873) — Azimpur, Lalbagh (Girls only)
- Government Titumir College (est. 1968) — Bir Uttam A.K. Khandakar Road, Mohakhali
- Government Bangla College (est. 1962) — Mirpur-1
- Begum Badrunnessa Government Women’s College (est. 1948) — Bakshi Bazar (Girls only)

Science Unit — Key Departments and Seats
The Science Unit offers departments such as Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Botany, Zoology, Geography & Environment, Psychology, Statistics, and Soil Science (in select colleges). Seats per department typically range from 54 to 90 at the larger colleges.

Note: If quota seats remain unfilled, they are allocated through the merit list. If seats in any department remain vacant, they may be filled from another unit.
How to Apply: Step-by-Step
Step 1 — Online Application Apply online at dcu.ac.bd between 10 June 2026 (12:00 PM) and 20 June 2026 (11:59 PM). You will need to submit your SSC and HSC results, email address, mobile number, and a scanned photograph.
Step 2 — Eligibility Verification After submitting the form, your minimum eligibility will be verified online between 21 June and 23 June 2026.
Step 3 — Pay the Application Fee The admission test fee is BDT 800. Payment must be made through the Sonali Bill Payment System within the deadline (by 27 June 2026). The application will not be complete without fee payment. Service charges are borne by the applicant.
Step 4 — Download Admit Card Admit cards will be available for download from the website starting 5 July 2026 by logging into your account.

- The test is MCQ format, 100 questions for 100 marks, duration 1 hour.
- Minimum passing mark is 40 out of 100.
- Each wrong answer carries a negative mark of 0.25.
- Mobile phones, calculators, smart watches, and all electronic devices are strictly prohibited in the exam hall.
- Students must arrive at least 30 minutes before the exam.
Science Unit exam syllabus: Physics and Chemistry are compulsory; candidates choose 2 more subjects from their HSC background. Each subject carries 25 marks.
Arts Unit exam syllabus: Bangla (25 marks), English (25 marks), and General Knowledge (50 marks) covering Bangladesh affairs, social sciences, civics, economics, history, logic, and geography.
Business Studies Unit exam syllabus: Bangla, English, Accounting, and Business Organisation & Management (20 marks each), plus one elective from Production Management, Marketing, Finance, Banking & Insurance.
Merit Score Calculation and Result
The merit score is calculated out of 120 marks:
- SSC GPA × 2 = up to 10 points
- HSC GPA × 2 = up to 10 points
- Admission test score = up to 100 marks
Students who passed HSC in 2024 will have 2 points deducted from their score.
Results will be published on 20 July 2026 (Science and Business) and 14 July 2026 (Arts). Subject and college preferences must be submitted online through the Choice Form after results are published. Classes are scheduled to begin on 6 September 2026.
Quota System
A portion of seats is reserved under the following quota categories (included within the total seat count):
- Freedom Fighter’s children: 5%
- Indigenous/ethnic minority students: 1%
- Harijan & Dalit community: 1%
- Students with disabilities: 1%
Ward quota (for children/spouses of college staff) and Sports quota seats are counted as additional seats beyond the declared total.
